GENERAL RULES FOR ALL STUDENTS

(i) The candidates selected provisionally for admission must deposit the fees and original certificates at the time of admission failing which he/she will forfeit the claim for admission and placement in the waiting list and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

(ii) The candidates admitted will be required to attend the classes immediately. The names of students who remain absent from classes for more than 15 days at a stretch will be struck off from the college Rolls without giving any notice. Every student is required to complete minimum attendance requirements as laid down by PTU Jalandhar.

(iii) All admissions are provisional and subjects to the final approval of the Punjab Technical Jalandhar, after completing the necessary requirement as per rules/ordinances.

(iv) Any candidate found medically unfit will not be allowed to continue his/her study in Institutions.

Regulations
Rules Regarding Fee Structure
(i) The fee-structure is further subject to revision/retionalization/finalization by the State Govt. from time to time and the same shall be applicable, when amended/communicated by the State Govt. In Addition, the students shall be required to pay the University fees/charges as prescribed by the PTU Jalandhar.

(ii) Students who desire to leave the College at any time during Course, will have to deposit fee for the balance of course before his/her Certificate are returned by the College.

Rules Regarding Ragging
Ragging in the educational institute is banned and any one indulging in ragging is likely to be punished appropriately. The punishment may include expulsion from the Institution, suspension from the Institution or classes for a limited period or fine with a public apology. The punishment may also take the shape of

(i) withholding scholarship or other benefits
(ii) debarring from representation in events
(iii) withholding result
(iv) suspension or expulsion from hostel or mess, and the like, if the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not/cannot be identified, collective punishment can be awarded to act as a deterrent. The following will be termed as the act of ragging.

"Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of testing, treating or handing with rudeness any other student, indulging on rowdy or indisciplined activities which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student or asking the students to do anything or perform something which such students will not do in the ordinary course and which has effect of causing generating sense of shame or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of a fresher or a junior students."



GENERAL INSTRUCTION FOR HOSTELERS

(i) Students are not allowed to keep any pets etc. in the hostel.

(ii) Students in their own interest should not keep large sum of money or any other valuable items in thier rooms.

(iii) Any Case of serious illness should be reported to the warden and the college Medical officer immediately.

(iv) Each resident student is responsible for the cleanliness and good upkeep of the room allotted to him/her.

(v) He /She will be held responsible for the damages done to the room or its furniture and fixtures.

(vi) If any student leaves the hostel and fails to handover in good order all the furniture/fixture, he/she will be liable to pay for any damages done.

(vii) All lights and fans must be switched off. when leaving the rooms.

(viii) All students are advised in their own interest to take breakfast/meals/snacks in the college mess/canteen.

(ix) In case of any food poisoning due to their taking food at a place other than the hostel/mess/canteen, the students will be personally responsible for the consequences.

(x) As soon as the resident ceases to be a student of the college, his/her entitlement to stay in the hostel will cease automatically.

(xi) Newspapers/magazines etc. are to be read in the common room only and should not be taken out.

(xii) T.V. sets should only be operated by the authorised persons who are permitted to operate in, otherwise charges for repair etc. would be the responsibility of the defaulters.


Hostel Rules
Instructions for Hostlers
(i) Each student must occupy the room allotted to him/her for the sessional by the wardens and no change of room shall be made without his/her permission.

(ii) No electric stoves, room heaters or electrical appliances etc. are allowed to be used. Students found quilty of misuse of electricity will be fined upto Rs. 500/- each time, when noticed.

(iii) No, student shall keep any unauthorised person in his/her room. If a student is found having a person in his/her will be liable to summary expulsion.

(iv) In the event of mischief/foul play or accident etc. the warden can break open the room for investigation.

(v) Whenever a student proposes to leave station or to remain outside the hostel for the night, he should obtain prior permission of the warden.

(vi) No student is permitted to entertain a guest on any ground, or any student of this college he will stand expelled from the college or the hostel. No student is permitted to entertain visitors or guests in the hostel after 10 p.m. except with the prior permission of the warden.

(vii) No female visitor is allowed in boy's hostels and male visitor in girls 'hostel without the written permission of the respective wardens.

(viii) Students are forbidden to utilise hostel servants as privates or abuse them in any way.

((ix) All complaints against hostel servants should be brought to the notice of the warden, who will investigate into the matter.

(x) No student will argue, abuse or misbehave with the mess contractor/staff or vice versa. Complaint, if any should be brought to the notice of the warden immediately.

(xi) All the students shall, at all times conduct themselves in a disciplined manner in the hostel. They should do nothing, which may disturb other, at study or at work, in the hostel.

(xii) Strict disciplinary action will be taken against any student found quilty of any personal violence or in abatement thereof. A student should in no case take law in his own hands but should report his/her grievances, if any, to the warden.

(xiii) Strictly forbidden in the hostels are :

* Possession or use of alcoholic beverages.
* Possession or use of addictive or hallucinogenic drugs.
* Possession or use of firearms or any lethal weapons.
* Gambling
* Playing cards.
* Loitering around unnecessarily.
(xiv) residents who do not observe the above said rules make themselves liable to fine or summary expulsion or both.
(xv) Any point/issue not covered by these rules shall be decided by the Principal.

Additional Hostlers Rules for Girls
(I) Parents, brothers sister are allowed to visit the ward anytime.

(ii) Names of relatives should be specifically mentioned by the respective parents, who can visit the ward.

(iii) Parents must provide the address of relatives whom the ward can visit on holidays.

(iv) Ward can visit home/relatives allowed by parents even on holidays. They must obtain written permission form warden one day in advance by submitting application.

(v) Ward can leave the hostel only upto 5.00 p..m.

(vi) Male visitors shall not be allowed in hostels in the residents' room.

(vii) No male student will be permitted in or around the girls hostel premises with any excuse.

(viii) The resident in the girls' hostel will be treated absent in case she does not mark her evening roll call in time.

(ix) Girls's students are not allowed to wear shorts in the mess/hostel premises.

(x) The students found guilty of breach of these rules will be fined upto Rs. 500/-each time when noticed.
